I find your criticism of Brazil amusing. You assert that, while they are the greatest economic success in Latin America, they are not true leftists, like Hugo Chavez. Why do you think Brazil is a success, while oil rich Venezuela is a basket case? Could it the very fact you cite - Hugo Chavez is a true leftist, while Brazil, like the “new” China embraces market economics. When a scientific theory fails an experimental test, it is quickly discarded. Yet no matter how many times leftist economics is defeated experimentally (North vs. South Korea, Maoist China vs. Taiwan, East vs. West Germany, Warsaw Block vs. NATO, Brazil vs. Venezuela), new generations are always drawn to the romance of Lenin and Che Guevara. Data is no match for a catchy T-shirt.
